My 2004 Saturn Vue will not go into drive, it will go in reverse and neutral.?

I can turn car on, put in neutral, start car and put in drive and it will go. The GM dealer put it on the diagnostic machine and can't figure out what is wrong. I can also drive in reverse and drive when it goes in gear.
