What does a Psychiatrist do? (will appreciate if an actual psychiatrist answers this)?

Most psychiatrist speak very little too a patient and go for combination therapy and have the psychologist talk to the patient, after they go over what may be different the psychiatrist then chooses to prescribe medication.
