Dumb question, but what is a career in accounting like?

Yeah, i'm pretty far along in my schooling. Before I take my Intermediate courses I want to know what accounting entails. Like what is the typical day for an auditor or tax accountant or cost accountant, etc. I don't doubt my competency in the subject, just that I would like to know what to expect. And what differences in careers should I expect with a BBA vs. MS vs. MS w/CPA etc...
